This June Science & Nature Pack for Preschool–Grade 3 helps children explore butterflies, lynx, crocodiles, and horseshoe crabs through simple readers, tracing words, handwriting, animal facts, coloring pages, mazes, word searches, science pages, and hands-on activities.
It is built around four June nature themes, so you can use one animal each week or simply print the pages that fit your homeschool, classroom, co-op, morning basket, or summer learning plans.

How the Pack Is Organized
The pack is divided into four weekly animal themes:
- Week 1: Butterfly Education & Awareness Day
- Week 2: International Lynx Day
- Week 3: World Croc Day
- Week 4: World Horseshoe Crab Day
Each week includes reading, vocabulary, handwriting, comprehension, science, labeling, coloring, games, and a hands-on activity or experiment.
Week 1: Butterflies
Children begin with butterflies and learn about insects, wings, scales, nectar, the proboscis, ultraviolet light, and the butterfly life cycle.

Children will learn that butterflies have six legs, four wings, tiny scales, a straw-like proboscis, and a life cycle that moves from egg to caterpillar to chrysalis to adult butterfly.
Week 2: Lynx
The second week introduces lynx as wild cats built for snow, quiet movement, and sharp senses.
Children learn about lynx paws, fur, ear tufts, camouflage, claws, tails, and how body features help animals survive in cold habitats.

Children learn about crocodiles as reptiles, their jaws, teeth, tails, scales, nests, eggs, strong bites, and how crocodile mothers care for their young.

The final week introduces horseshoe crabs as ancient ocean animals with surprising body features.
Children learn that horseshoe crabs are not true crabs, are related to spiders and scorpions, have blue blood, ten eyes, book gills, a hard shell, and a long telson.
